GENERAL PROCEDURE

Submissions for the 2025-2026 edition (Volume 24) of East on Central will be accepted between January 1, 2025 and February 28, 2025.

There is a separate submission process for writers submitting poetry or prose, and artists submitting visual art. Each type of submission requires a separate $10 fee.

**We have made changes to our submission process this year, so it will be very important to read and follow all directions in the application form, particularly as it relates to uploading files and making payments.**

Our online submission process will ask you to provide a little information about yourself, some information about each of your entries, and a payment of $10. When completing your submission, Your payment must be accomplished through our secure online credit card process.*

Writers submitting poetry or prose may submit up to 4 pieces, which may be any combination of poetry or prose. For prose, there is maximum of 1500 words per entry. Writers must upload their files electronically as part of the submission process.

Artists submitting visual art may submit up to 4 pieces. Artists must upload their files as part of the submission process.

We are no longer managing photo shoots. Artists who wish to have their work professionally photographed may contact Iris Allen individually to line up a photo shoot. Her email is: iris@photographybyirisallen.com.

We welcome your best work on any subject for the main section of the journal. Our smaller, special section, if you wish to have work included there, will have a Focus on Exploration.  Here are some ideas to get you thinking about this topic:

We explore our world every day, whether physically or through media. We find new activities, new friends, new food, and new places to have fun or experience nature. We investigate mysteries, go on journeys, perhaps take risks or get lost, and in so doing, we expand our ideas about what the world is and who we are. But we also explore inwardly -- make decisions, face challenges, push boundaries, use our imaginations -- and grow in self-awareness in the process. Both writers and artists are welcome to include submissions for this section.

**If you require technical assistance only, please send an email describing your problem or question, with your name and phone number to: EOCassoc24@eastoncentral.onmicrosoft.com.

Attach a screenshot if you have something specific you need to share. We will reply as soon as we can."

Other inquiries should be sent to info@eastoncentral.org.**

East on Central will consider special accommodations if needed, upon request. Email us at info@eastoncentral.org,
