WhoWhatWhenWhereWhy & Works on Paper: Two Collaborative Novels by East on Central

9 in stock

These stories are progressive novels, written as a project created by East on Central. The first chapter of each was written by a brave soul who was willing to set the tone. Each subsequent chapter was written by another writer based on his or her interpretation of the chapter before. The illustrations were drawn independently of the artwork for previous chapters. WhoWhatWhenWhereWhy is a contemporary mystery set in the offices of Whitmore Analytics, a data cataloging firm with a questionable mission. Roger Whitmore finds himself literally out on a ledge with no memory of how he got there. The story follows Roger in his search to restore his memory and determine the truth about his company, his co-workers and himself. Works on Paper begins in the posh home of Charlotte and Frank Curty, as they prepare to host an elaborate party to unveil their newest acquisition, a painting by the late artist, Lyle Fonda, entitled Bluer than Blues (Blue Heaven). The painting has a special meaning to Charlotte, the artist’s former lover. Through a series of flashbacks, we learn about the history and provenance of the painting and the effects it has on the lives of those who possessed it.
