East on Central
2007 Edition

A tribute to the beauty
and complexity of the city
that is our home.

Discover a treasury of art & literature from Highland Park featuring the work of writers and visual artists who live, work and take classes in our community. There are stories, poetry, memoirs, paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery and  crafts, ranging from the humorous to the serious, and demonstrating the exciting array of talent found in our own backyard. East on Central is particularly interested in the way that artists and writers can inspire each other to new work, and includes pairs of work that were created through such mutual inspiration.

The current edition features Highland Park in Touch with Nature, a Creative Exchange highlighting our natural environment, which has always been a source of artistic inspiration. Featured is work inspired by the art that is nature: parks, preserves and beaches, the leaves in autumn, the icicles of winter and the clouds on a summer’s day.
