Creative Exchange

HONORING THE ART CENTER’S FIFTIETH YEAR

East on Central has always tried to promote interaction among the arts, with activities that bring together writers and visual artists to inspire one another and to respond to each other’s works. Every year East on Central has a special section called a “Creative Exchange” for which we solicit art and writing related to a special theme. The theme for our 2010-2011 Creative Exchange will be “Celebrating the Arts in Highland Park: Honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Art Center.”

We welcome all forms that focus on the arts in Highland Park: visual arts, crafts, prose and poetry, music, theatre and dance. Be introspective if you wish, or look outward to the work of another artist. Or respond to a Highland Park setting that encourages the arts. We are particularly looking for works that are tied to the Art Center and the role it plays in our cultural community; however, any work ABOUT the arts will be considered for publication in the Creative Exchange.

As always, we welcome submissions of a more general nature as well.
